Is the medium a graphic novel or animated 3-D character?" The purpose of the design, and what it will be used for, informs the design process. After some of these questions have been answered, then the research and design exploration begins. The challenge with character design is to try and create a unique design that not only looks interesting, but also exhibits a little personality.
